Thank you to everyone who attended the Area 53 2013 Mini-Conference at Deer Creek Conference Center on March 8-10. The weather was wonderfully cooperative. We had 104 in attendance with 88 people enjoying the Saturday night banquet.
The results of the evaluations were very favorable. Some suggested that the Mini-Conference committee might want to change the dates to the first week of March due to daylight savings time change. This and other items will be discussed at our next committee meeting April 1,2013. A financial report will appear on the website as soon as it is available.

Area 53 Mini-Conference
The Area 53 Special Needs Committee will meet at 10:00am, Saturday November 24, at Central Office, 100 W. 3rd Ave, Columbus. The agenda for the meeting includes:
- Nomination and election of officers: chair and secretary (treasurer has one more year) to take office in January 2013
- Progress report on project to identify meetings on COTA bus routes
- Request from AA volunteers to establish a Deaf Access Subcommittee based on similar AA outreach efforts in Texas and Oregon
- Discussion of 2013 budget request
- Discussion and vote on projected 2013 quarterly committee meeting schedule, time, location

The Area 53 Mini-Conference Committee will meet May 10 at 6:30 P.M. at 994 Oakland Park Avenue in Columbus. As a standing committee of Area 53, the committee plans the Area’s annual March service gathering.
Last March, specific General Service Conference (GSC) agenda items were discussed and voted on by Area 53 AAs at the Salt Fork Conference Center. The Area’s recommendations were taken by the Area 53 Delegate Glen P. to the GSC held the week of April 22-28 in Rye, New York. Glen was one of 133 voting members of the 62nd General Service Conference of A.A.
The May 10 Thursday’s meeting will be held at Oakland Park United Methodist Church at the corner of Osceola and Oakland Park Avenue. All interested AAs are welcome to join the committee. If you have any question, contact Dave C. at altdelegate[at]area53aa[dot]org or 614-882-0036.
