Committees

There are many opportunities for service in Area 53. The current standing committees are:
- Archives
Acquire and preserve AA and Area 53 history. - Convention
Plan, coordinate, and chair service conventions, provide oversight of the legal and financial activities of the State Convention, define and manage the site selection process, and ensure that the convention remain self supporting. - CPC/PI
Meet any group of individuals – professionals, churches, students, senior citizens, etc – that would like information about what AA is and what it is not. - Correctional Facilities
Assist individuals, groups, and districts in carrying the AA message to the alcoholic who still suffers, especially those confined in, or recently released from jails, prisons, and other correctional facilities. - Grapevine
Assist groups in Area 53 with the distribution and introduction of the Grapevine magazine. - Group Services
Help GSRs and DCMs with whatever information or assistance they may need. - Intergroup Liaison
Contact, inform, and offer cooperation with all the intergroups in Area 53. - Mini-Conference
Provides oversight for the activities of the Area 53 annual mini-conference held in March; conducts the site selection and plans the smooth running of the conference. - Treatment Facilities
Cooperate and present Alcoholics Anonymous to the staff and volunteers at treatment centers.
