You are linking your home group with the whole of A.A.
Now, as general service representative, you have an even bigger responsibility: You transmit ideas and opinions, as well as facts; through you, the group conscience becomes a part of “the collective conscience of our whole Fellowship,” as expressed in the General Service Conference. Like everything else in A.A., it works through a series of simple steps.

Join a standing committee
Standing committees focus on specific areas of service, such as literature, public information, or treatment facilities. Group reps who serve on these committees contribute their experience and insights to help shape the committee's work.

Attending an assembly
Even simply attending an assembly can be a valuable experience. It allows AA members to learn more about how the service structure works, hear different perspectives, and connect with other members from the area.
