Bridging The Gap: Your Support after Treatment
Leaving treatment is a huge step, and Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) can be a vital part of your continued recovery. That's where Bridging the Gap comes in.

Want to Help
Are you willing to volunteer as a Bridging the Gap contact for someone leaving a treatment setting?
What is Bridging the Gap?
It's a program designed to smooth your transition from a treatment setting into the AA community. We connect you with a friendly AA member – a Temporary Contact – who can offer support and guidance as you begin your journey in AA.
How Bridging the Gap Helps:
- Personal Connection: Your Temporary Contact will reach out after you leave treatment, offering a welcoming voice and a helping hand.
- Meeting Support: They can accompany you to meetings, helping you navigate the different formats and feel more comfortable.
- AA Insights: They'll share their experience with sponsorship, the 12 Steps, and finding a home group.
- Resources and Connections: They can provide phone numbers of other AA members and introduce you to valuable AA literature.
