AA has faced and survived many challenges in the past, and our present circumstances are no less daunting. We are living through extraordinary times that call for creative solutions to keep our Fellowship united. Our Election Assembly is rooted in AA’s organizational history and its importance is clearly conveyed in the AA Service Manual, p. S38.
Our Assembly activities are guided by AA’s Traditions and Concepts. They give us a road map with detailed instructions that guides us toward our primary purpose. This fact has compelled us to move forward with a “virtual” Election Assembly. Our service rotation must not cease because we cannot meet in person.
If you have not thought about it already, please consider “standing” for an Area position. Persons who put themselves forward to serve in an Area officer’s role will be given a three-minute opportunity to describe their service history and unique qualifications.
Pre-registration is open for the upcoming Assembly. Visit the homepage www.area53aa.org and register either as an interested AA OR as a voting member of Area 53.
Voting members of the Area 53 Assembly are:
GSRs, DCMs, the DCMC, Standing Committee Chairs, Area Officers and their Alternates, and Past Delegates. Alternates may vote in place of an absent GSR, DCM, DCMC, or Standing Committee Chair.
