2014 Area 53 Mini-Conference may be the closest thing there is to a real General Service Conference experience. That’s one great reason why this March’s weekend at Salt Fork is starting to get talked about all over the 38 counties of central and southeastern Ohio.
As your 2013-14 Delegate to the General Service Conference it was an honor to represent you and advocate for what’s best for AA as a whole in New York last April. Now this year I invite you to renew the Responsibility Pledge with me at the 2014 Area 53 Mini-Conference, March 7-9 at Salt Fork Lodge and Conference Center, near Cambridge OH. You can register online by clicking on the upper right of this web page.
The weekend begins Friday March 7 with registration at 3 pm and GSR School from 4 – 5:30 p.m. All weekend, District 15 Hospitality suite will serve up a variety of great soup, snacks and fellowship until 11 p.m. each night. (the suite will be closed during actual conference sessions). The Saturday and Sunday
Early Bird AA meetings will be chaired by Clintonville Big Book Group members.
Our Mini-Conference guests will be GSO’s Steve S., Treatment-Special Needs/Accessibilities desk staff person, and East Central Regional Trustee Bill F. from Marietta Ohio, a past Delegate from Area 53. Steve, who came to the New York world service office from Minneapolis, will be the Saturday night banquet speaker.
Look on this website for updates about the mini-conference and General Service Conference agenda. If you send a GSR you will be able to say your group participated in the AA group conscience.
Last year our Area said we wanted GSO to publish a replica of the April 1939 first edition Big Book and by more than two-thirds the General Service Conference voted to get it done. This April the book will be made available at central offices and AA meetings wherever the AA spiritual solution is practiced.
