Area 53 is this year’s host of the 2017 Ohio State Convention. Our committee has several experienced members that have participated in putting together informative, entertaining conventions and mini conferences. This State Conference is no exception. The committee has arranged speakers from young people groups, Alanon and of course A A ,with amusing activities at the end of the day.

Myself, I really enjoy talking to 12 steppers all over Ohio and neighboring states at the conventions. If a member is more into learning the perspectives of A A principles, information that we get on the six panels throughout the conference or more into the entertainment and fellowship, we offer both and much more for you! Bring your spouse or companion; plenty of activities for them to do nearby.

The 2017 Ohio State Convention of Alcoholics Anonymous will be in Columbus Ohio on July 28-30, 2017. Copies of the flyer handed out at the Area 53 December assembly had the wrong dates (it is not July 21-23!).

The corrected mail-in registration flyer is available. Please share it with all AA members and other friends of AA.

A planning kickoff meeting for the 61th Ohio State Convention being hosted by Area 53 will be Monday, July 18, 8:00pm to 9:00pm. This will be an online meeting with a dial-in number as well as a web presentation. To receive the meeting details (conference phone number and the meeting site), visit the 2017 State Convention Homepage and SUBSCRIBE to the newsletter. Details on connecting to the meeting will be sent out Monday afternoon.

The 60th Ohio State Convention is hosted by Area 54 at the Double Tree by Hilton in Westlake Ohio. If you are thinking about attending, please print out the registration flier and mail it with your check as soon as possible. The state convention registration is $25. Meal options include Saturday lunch buffet ($22) and Saturday banquet ($35). At last count, 60 rooms have been reserved at the Double Tree. Call 440-871-6000 and mention “Ohio State Convention” to get the convention room rate of $92 plus tax. This rate includes a breakfast buffet coupon.
