This communication contains some old news (minutes from April meeting) and new news.
The committee has continued to focus on the members responsibilities and activities, updating the New Committee packet, as well as the many means of carrying the message (business cards,health fair exhibits, mail, phone calls,and presentations at schools, colleges, and senior centers), assuring the hand of AA is available and visible.
Most recently the Area website and communication has been a center of attention as this position was previously a part of the CPC-PI committee under the Area 53 Guidelines. There is a proposal coming before the assembly in June to change the guidelines and make the Webmaster and Communication Officer an Area Officer position.
Upcoming CPC-PI event is the Addiction Studies Institute July 20-22. This is the largest contact with professionals that this committee has participated in for several years. If you are interested in staffing the display, contact cpcpichair[at]area53aa[dot]org.
Area 53 elections will be coming up in September for the new panel. CPC-PI election for committee officers will take place in November; review of qualifications and description for these positions can be found under CPC-PI news dated Oct 18, 2014 on this website.
I am grateful for the experience of serving as a Standing Committee Chair. Thank you for the opportunity to learn, grow, listen, and share.
