Do You Have Area News and Events?
A new page on the Area 53 website includes information in Spanish about the Ohio State Convention coming up in July, and the June Assembly. It is a simple idea for helping those that speak Spanish feel included in the Area. Please visit the “En Español” page and bring your comments to the next assembly.

The list of Area 53 groups on the website has been updated as of May 26, 2017. You can search the groups on the Groups & GSRs page. You can find the list of area groups on the online contributions page.
Each group’s data includes:
- general service group number (a six digit number assigned by GSO)
- group name (“(p)” after name indicates a jail or prison group)
- primary group contact with service position if any
- second group contact with service position if any
- name of meeting location and city
- date the group information was last updated
Districts have a list of groups on their district page. Districts and their monthly meetings (if any) are on the Districts page.

The June 4, 2017, meeting of CPC-PI committee is cancelled in light of the Area 53 assembly being held on June 4th. Regular monthly meetings will resume July 2 at 2:00 pm at Maple Grove Church, 7 W. Henderson Road in Room 3. Thanks for your consideration and cooperation.

The information page about the area web site and web administrator has been updated with questions and answers. These might help interested candidates understand some of the duties and work involved as they consider standing for the open positions at the June 4 Area Assembly.
Types of questions include:
- What application is used by the web site?
- How is web site security implemented?
- Who is allowed to login to the web site?
- Why does the web administrator have to attend any meetings?

The list of active groups in Area 53 has been updated as of April 29, 2017. You can search the 744 groups on the Groups & GSRS page. For each group, data includes the service number, group name, GSR name, alternate GSR name, mail contact name, meeting location and city, and the last date the group contacts were updated.
When you visit the page and enter “197” in the search box, you will see a list of groups in Area 53 that had contacts last updated in the 1970’s. There are over 100 groups in Area 53 that were last updated sometime before 2000 – over 17 years ago.
Each active district has a list of active groups on the district page. The list of districts and their meetings is on the Districts page. You can also find the list of active groups on the online contributions page.

Area 53 will hold a special election at the June 4, 2017, Area Assembly meeting for Web Administrator and Alternate Web Administrator. The area committee is considering conducting an information and sharing session sometime in May. If you are interested in learning more about these positions, please visit the area website news and take a quick survey to help the committee plan.
